Rabbit and The Chair

The Red Brick Auditorium, Square Chapel, Halifax
Performed as part of Calderdale Young Brilliance week
July 2005
Rabbit by David Foxton is a thought provoking play which follows the lives of a group of children who have survived a calamitous war. The adults have perished leaving the children to try to carve out an existence on their own. How will they fare and will they make the same mistakes as the adults whose actions led to the near destruction of the world?
The Chair by Geoff Bamber hilariously follows the life of a simple chair and the fortunes of its various owners. When a woodcutter finds a chair he lovingly restores it, but his changing fortunes force him to sell it. So begins the tale of the chair as it passes from increasingly strange character to character including a king, robbers and a tramp.
